What is microblading?

Microblading is an innovative semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing. In this procedure, pigment is implanted in the dermal layer of the skin with a handheld tool to create hair like strokes. This method of tattooing achieves softer and more realistic looking eyebrows.

Does microblading hurt?

To ensure our patients are as comfortable as possible, before microblading, a topical numbing cream is applied, and a second local anaesthetic is used throughout the treatment to greatly minimize any discomfort.

Who is a good candidate for microblading?

A good candidate for microblading is someone who may have thinning eyebrows, or someone who doesn’t want to wear makeup to have fuller more defined eyebrows. A consultation with our microblading technician is advised to ensure that you’re a good candidate.

How long does the procedure take?

Microblading takes approximately 2-3 hours for your first visit, and touch-ups take 1-2 hours.

What will I look like right after microblading?

Immediately after your treatment, your new eyebrows will be very bold in colour and look slightly swollen. This swelling improves over the next 1-2 days and the bold colour will fade a few shades once the crusted pigment has sloughed off, after approximately 7-10 days.

How long is the healing time?

After microblading, you will have mild soreness, crusting and itching, that improves over 7-10 days. We will provide a detailed after-care info sheet which will explain exactly how to care for your brows and an aftercare balm to ensure healthy healing.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading generally lasts between 1-3 years. Some factors will affect the length of time between touch ups such as: skin type, sun exposure, active ingredients used around the eyebrows and commitment to after-care.
